At 3pm CST at Saint Meinrad Archabbey, I reaffirmed my Oblation as a Benediction Oblate of Saint Meinrad with Father Meinrad, my superior, doing the reaffirmation.  Pretty kewl having a Father/Monk of Saint Meinrad conducting the ceremony. 

I arrived a bit early to Saint Meinrad Arch abbey today.  Soooo...I decided to kill time by browsing the gift shop.  BIG mistake.  I picked up two new books, one is on Padre Pio.  I've heard about him, but didn't know much about him.  The book is called "Padre Pio, Under Investigation"  the author claims knowledge of "secret vatican" file in regard to Padre Pio.  So, I will be learning about Padre Pio during my retreat here at Saint Meinrad.  I also decided on a bowl of soup at the gift shop diner.  Mock turtle soup.  Have I ever mentioned that I absolutely HATE lima beans?  This soup was over flowing with lima beans.  I did manage to finish the soup, yes, I ate the lima beans as well.  So, for my first meal here at "The Hill" was of lima beans.  My mother found that amusing when I told her about it.

The rooms here are very comfortable, it is almost as staying at a motel.  No T.V. though.  LoL, not that I will miss T.V.  This is definately not Gethsemani.  I even have Wi-Fi connection in my room.  /This will take some getting used to.  I have my re-newal of my Benediction "promises" at 3pm with Father Meinrad, the divine office at 5pm.
